You're A Star was a ratings hit for the Irish network RTE 1 both in Season 1 and Season 2, pulling in over 1,000,000 viewers for the season finals, which Mickey Harte and Chris Doran won respectively.
The 2005/2006 prize was not to represent Ireland in Eurovision Song Contest. It is a recording contract with Universal. Lucia Evans went on to win the fourth Season.
You're A Star was a ratings hit for 6 series and the final of the 2nd Series was recently named No. 7 in the top 20 rated programmes of the decade.
RTÉ also created Charity You're A Star, in which celebrities went head to head to raise money for charity which ran for 3 Series.
