Sponsored by Sona Vitamins and presented by former World Champion Barry McGuigan and Ireland's coolest girl Lucy Kennedy Charity Lords of the Ring follows 10 celebrities on their tough journey from bootcamp training to the ring.

The celebrities including, Ex-Manchester Utd. and England footballer Lee Sharpe, comedian Alan Shortt, Fair City star MacLean Burke, TV presenter John McGuire, Dragon's Den entrepreneur Sean Gallagher, journalist Joe O'Shea, former Dublin Gaelic Football hero Jack Sheedy,Daily Mirror showbiz Paul Martin, RTÉ Young People's presenter Rob Ross and UK Apprentice star Ben Clarke, will be trained by world renowned boxers Tim Witherspoon (two time World Heavyweight Champion) and Pete Taylor (coach and father of Katie Taylor, two times World Champion Women's Boxer). Other well known faces from the boxing world will show up in training to give advice and encouragement.

It is not just the contestants pride at stake on Charity Lords of the Ring, the longer they stay in the competition the more money they will raise for their chosen charities.

The bouts will be overseen by professional referees and judged by a panel of well known guest judges from the boxing world. The judges will be awarding points after each round with the emphasis being placed on style, movement and defence along with other essential boxing skills which the contestants will have been taught during training.

Brian Peters Promotions will oversee the entire series to ensure that the standards associated with professional boxing events are adhered to throughout. The regulatory body for professional boxing in Ireland, the Boxing Union of Ireland, is also assisting in the series.

All 10 celebrities have also completed a rigorous half-day medical and must pass before being allowed to take part in the boot-camp and protective headgear will be worn for all ring training and bouts.
